Day #3 My Husband: 30 Days of Thankful

I am a new bride. Married this year, I am grateful for my husband, Shane. Divorced as well, we both came into this relationship with a lot of baggage and fears. Divorce sucks. Nobody gets married to get divorced, but it happens. It’s just amazing that two crazy people like us could find love again. We did!

Anyone who knows us, knows we are a little wacky. We have to be wacky juggling kids schedules, ex’s, businesses, family and more. I am pretty sure I have it a lot easier than he does. He’s easy to get along with. I am crazier, more emotional and definitely … well…. there’s more going on in my camp than his. I am thankful he puts up with me.

My husband is a masterful storyteller with video and owns his own company Headwires. He freelances for the LDS Church on their missionary campaign – I am a Mormon. He does many of the videos and commercials you see around Salt Lake as well. He works with an awesome team at Digital Bytes.

10 Things I Love About Shane:

  1. His sense of humor. I am his biggest fan. Seriously, he cracks me up daily.
  2. He is a great dad & step dad. Good example to our kiddos.
  3. He came with an awesome family. {Love all those Johnson’s!!}
  4. His huge heart. He is fiercely loyal to his friends and clients. He’s always there for those he cares about.
  5. He loves his family, both immediate and extended. It’s great to see him close to his cousins, aunts, uncles, etc.
  6. Great cook! He’s the grill master, crepes, yummy eggs, soup, you name it, the man can COOK!
  7. Other things I can’t mention on a public blog 🙂
  8. Amazing guitar player. Early in our relationship, his guitar playing would sooth me, calm me and help refocus me. I wear a custom guitar ring as my wedding ring. He had it made when he proposed. It’s unique and a fitting symbol for us.
  9. Humble, great listener & supportive. I can’t say it enough.
  10. Hard worker! He works hard to provide for us and do amazing work for his clients. You’ll find him working late at night, weekends and very long days. However, he prioritizes family first.
  11. BONUS! He loves me!

I really could go on and on, but this quote summarizes he and I:

Your deserving of someone that isn’t afraid to admit they miss you. Someone that knows you’re not perfect but treats you as if you are. Someone who couldn’t imagine losing you. Someone who gives their heart to you completely. Someone who says I love you then proceeds to show you every day. That special someone who loves waking up next to you every morning opens their eyes looking at you and falls in love with you all over again…

In marriage, it becomes easy to take for granted the relationship until one day you wake up and realize the relationship is over. Day 3 – I am so thankful to have a husband who loves me each and every day. I am also thankful for second chances. I love you sweetheart!

He says this song makes him think of me! I love that!! 🙂
